Our Director and founder Dr. Alka Bahekar heads the department. Trained under the pioneers in the field like Dr. Shastrakar, Dr. Deshpande at GMC Nagpur, she further did registrar ship at Parsi Hospital Mumbai. An active academician; she has the distinction of conducting various academic events for IMA Gondia. A surgeon par excellence, she also brings with her a great level of discipline in the institute.
In the year 2015, Dr. Gargee Bahekar joined the department. A gold medalist during her training years, she received her degree from the prestigious KEM hospital Mumbai under the mentorship of Dr. K R Damania. With special interest in high risk obstetric care and painless labor, she has added a new dimension to the department. She has worked tirelessly at GMC Gondia as an associate professor serving the people of the region.
